Adjusting tooth boundaries
Segmentation and reconstruction are crucial steps before treatment planning.
After editing scan, please add markers to segment teeth from scans. Auto Segmentation is a feature in beta.
Common Scans
To segment the scans, click on the incisal ridge (anterior teeth) or occlusal surface (posterior teeth) of each tooth to place a segmentation marker. If a marker is misplaced, click it again to remove it. After you have selected each tooth, click Next.

Color Scans
If the scans are color scans, auto segmentation is ready for them. By clicking OK in the pop-window. Click Cancel to manually place markers and run segmentation.
After adding markers for all teeth, click Next to start segmenting teeth from scans. Segmentation usually takes 15-30 seconds. No action is required during this stag
Once the segmentation is done, the teeth will be colored in with borders along the gingival margin.
If adjustments are needed, there are two tools for adjusting the border. Sculpt is for moving the lines and Smooth is for smoothing them out.

A. Sculpt: Select a tooth, click Sculpt on the left panel, and drag the grey circle along the border to adjust the curves.
B. Smooth: Select a tooth, click Smooth on the left panel, and hold the grey circle above the area to smooth the curves.
The brush size can be adjusted with the Brush Size indicator slider.
When the boundaries adjustment for a tooth is done, click Done Editing Tooth or press the Enter key.
If a tooth is not filled in, the software does not allow you to proceed before you have filled in that tooth. To fix, adjust the boarder until it is not crossing any adjacent gingival margins and the tooth color automatically fills in.
When finished adjusting all boarders, click Next to accept segmentation. If you want to return to Scan Model Processing, click Previous.
