Currently, ArchForm supports exporting printing files for both CNC milling and LAC (PTS) cutting methods, IDB trays, and direct print aligners (DPA).

Export parameters for Model Printing

Orientation

• Export Orientation: There are 4 orientations of the exported models.

  

  Horizontal Lays the model flat on the printing bed to print horizontally.

  

  Vertical Extrudes support on the base of the rear end of the model for printing vertically

  

  Vertical (Baseplate) Creates a baseplate that joins the two supports of the model for vertical printing.

  

  Occlusion For verifying the bite of the model.

• Vertical Tilt Angle: The amount of the inclination for models exported in vertical orientation.

  

  Tilt angle = 15 degree

  

  Tilt angle = 30 degree

Hollow Mode

• Hollow Mode: There are 4 types of gum in the exported models.

  

  Solid Keeps the model solid.

  

  Hollow (Open) Creates an open cavity in the rear of the model

  

  Hollow (3D Infill) Fills the cavity with a 3D geometric pattern for support.

  

  Hollow (2D Infill) Fills the cavity with a 2D geometric pattern for support.

• Wall Thickness: The thickness of the gum walls for models exported with a hollow gum.

• Infill Style: The pattern shape of support in the cavity. There are 3 options supported.

  

  Hexagonal

Label

• Label Mode: If the patient name and the number of aligners should be labeled on the model. There are 2 options for adding label on the model.

  • Label Location: Where the label should be printed on the model. There are 4 options: inside left, inside right, outside left, outside right.

  

  Bottom Place the label on the bottom of the model.

  

  Gum Place the label on the side of the gum on the model.

Format

• Export Format: The file format of the export files. The software supports exporting models in ******STL or OBJ format.

Auto Packing

• Use Auto-Packing: If the software will automatically arrange the models to fit onto the build platform.
• Printer Model: Determine the auto-packing build volume size and configuration.
• Upward Direction: The vertical axis reference for printing models.

Others

• Export Stage Number: Whether ArchForm should include a printed stage number on each model.
