How to fix models that have deformed in the software or after export

If not correctly imported, models can become deformed during treatment planning or after export. It is critical to resolve this issue before proceeding with treatment.

To fix this issue, make sure your models get correctly orientated during import. They should be in occlusion, facing forward, upright, and within the arch outline.

• To rotate the models together, use the arrows at the bottom of the screen.
• If the models are not in occlusion, click on an individual model and use the movement widget to arrange the model.
• You can move both models together by shift+clicking both models and then using the movement widget to arrange the model.

Early warning signs that your model did not get imported correctly are irregular positioning during segmentation marking and incorrectly bound view control buttons.

Models that are improperly oriented during import will not lay out side by side during segmentation. This is an early warning sign of models that are not oriented upright, facing forward, and inocclusion, during import.

When marking teeth during segmentation, the models should lay flat, side by side, with the anterior teeth at the top of the screen. If they orient in any other direction, go back to the model import screen to adjust the models.

In treatment planning, the model should display the corresponding view when using the view controller. If the model does not orientate forward and upright when you click Front, then the model was not correctly orientated during import. In this case, you need to reimport the patient.
