Adding attachments give aligners a better grip and more control on teeth. ArchForm comes preloaded with various attachment shapes, each specifically designed to give optimal control for moving teeth.

How to add attachments

First, select a tooth, and click Attachment on the Tools panel or Edit Attachments on the Tooth panel.

• Auto Attachments

  Attachments can be automatically applied by clicking Auto Attachments to teeth whose movements reaches the threshold set in the rules in the Settings/Auto Attachments.

  Click the gear icon to open the Settings/Auto Attachments.

• Manually add attachments

  To add an attachment manually, select a tooth and click on an attachment shape. Different attachments can be added to the same tooth.

How to optimize attachments

Attachments can be optimized in attachment mode using gizmo or by modifying its parameters.

1. To reposition an attachment, select it and drag the dot of gizmo to the desired location.
2. To edit the shape, orientation, and sized of an attachment, select it and drag its movement widget or update values by typing in numbers or clicking on + or – in the Edit Attachment ******panel **on the right.
3. To add a modified attachment to a tooth, click Copy or use Ctrl + C to copy the attachment, then switch to the desired tooth and click Paste or use Ctrl + V to paste. A new attachment with all customized parameters will be added to the selected tooth. The pasted attachment is placed at the default center position on the tooth surface.
4. To remove an attachment, select it and click Remove Attachment.
5. Click Done to finalize the attachment setup.

How to set up rules for applying attachments by one click

If you would like the software automatically apply attachments by one click, you can setup the rules for automatically applying attachments in Settings/Auto Attachments.
